Job Summary:
The Power and Utility Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships in the power and utility sector. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the energy industry and the ability to identify and capitalize on sales prospects. The Sales Executive will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of power and utility companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting and qualifying new leads in the power and utility industry through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation activities
Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve individual and team sales targets
Conducting market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer pain points
Preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations and proposals that showcase the company’s products and services
Negotiating contract terms and closing sales deals with power and utility clients
Managing a sales pipeline and accurately forecasting future sales
Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing power and utility customers
Providing excellent customer service and addressing client needs and concerns in a timely manner
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and product development, to support sales efforts
Staying abreast of regulatory changes, technological advancements, and other industry developments
Required Skills and Qualifications:
8+ years of sales experience in the power and utility industry, with a proven track record of success
In-depth knowledge of the power and utility sector, including generation, transmission, and distribution
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of energy technologies, such as renewable energy, smart grid solutions, and energy efficiency
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse stakeholders
Proficient in using sales automation tools and customer relationship management (CRM) software
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
